Once again you have proven that your company is one of the best in the business! The Maine Beaches Association, with a grant from the Maine Office of Tourism, accepted the bid from Media Ventures to complete a comprehensive re-do of our regional fulfillment piece, as well as update our website and create a new rack card and DVD.

I am so impressed by the work you've done and the improvement that has been made in these lure pieces! In one instance, your clever use of icons changed a cumbersome page into an easily readable chart for our visitors --- a design that none of us at the table had even imagined --- and we've been at this for a lot of years!

The coordination of all the parts and pieces of these products has gone so smoothly, and the end products are beyond what we had expected. Thank you for once again giving us visitor enhancement products that make us shine!

Effective January 1, 1984, AT&T's local operations were split into seven independent Regional Holding Companies, also known as Regional Bell Operating Companies (RBOCs), or "Baby Bells".
Competition among directory publishers explodes and the seed that would become Media Ventures, Inc. is planted.
MVI opens an office in Bridgeport, CT with five employees. The company has two clients – Southwestern Bell and Bell South.
Reports from the booming, highly profitable Yellow Pages Industry indicate that maps are the most highly referenced section in the phone book, so MVI begins to offer custom cartography services and publishes the first Greater Bridgeport Map Guide for the Bridgeport Regional Business Council. Custom maps for telephone directories play an integral role in MVI’s growth into the new decade.
David Persson purchases MVI and moves the company headquarters to Norwalk, CT. David is a veteran publishing executive who will launch MVI into multiple new publishing markets. His impact on MVI is immediate and prior to the end of 1994 MVI is contracted to design and create a high-end booklet commemorating the 25th anniversary of Penthouse magazine. Tracy McCarthy, David’s daughter, returns from Guatemala and a stint in the Peace Corps and is brought on board to develop MVI’s cartography services.
MVI signs on with Electronic Media magazine and publishes a supplement for them titled Electronic Media’s Guide to: NATPE. This custom guide targets conference attendees and features hotel and transportation information, a Las Vegas strip map, program highlights and area activities.
MVI developed a series of advertiser supported resource guides for Bell Atlantic. Categories included home improvement, health care, pet care and more.
Published Gulf Telephone’s Product & Services Guide, an eight-page, four-color product bound in the telephone book, along with a 40-page community page section.
In partnership with American Park Network, MVI publishes a series of guides highlighting our country’s national parks. The guides are endorsed by Fodor’s and the National Park Foundation and are distributed at the entrances to more than 20 national parks.
The first issue of Coastal Boating magazine is published by MVI. This consumer publication is the brainchild of Media Ventures and is distributed throughout South Florida’s Indian River, Martin, Palm Beach, Broward and Dade counties, and presents the unique lifestyle of living and boating on Florida’s coast.
Following the success of the first year, Coastal Boating increases its publishing cycle from four issues to six issues and increases circulation and representation at local and regional events throughout the marine industry.
MVI expands its reach to Chambers of Commerce and publishes the Indian River Chamber Guide, working in part through their Florida office. Multiple chamber guides will follow, including ones for Bridgeport, Westport, Stamford, and Southington, CT and York, ME.
MVI writes and designs the inaugural issue of Mixx magazine, a special advertising section that appeared in Adweek, Brandweek and Mediaweek magazines.
Partnering with the Yellow Pages Association (YPA), MVI publishes the first Yellow Pages Sustainability Report. Also during this year, MVI secures a contract to publish recreation guides for the Town of Herndon, VA.
On April 20, 2011, Media Ventures Inc. becomes a WBENC-Certified Women’s Business Enterprise. MVI also signs on with Healthcare Commerce Media Corp. to publish their bimonthly magazine, Pharmaceutical Commerce.
MVI expands its digital footprint to include SEO management, including eNewsletter publishing and begins publishing a product catalog for American Diving Supply.

    We have found Tracy McCarthy and her staff to be competent, knowledgeable, and very easy to work with. They are essentially the face of the Business Council when contacting members about advertising, and we have every confidence in their professionalism when dealing with our members. Each year, they propose several designs and work with us to determine the “look” of the Directory and try to keep some sense of continuity while also differentiating it from the prior editions. Tracy and her staff also work with us on the timeline, meet the deadlines that they have agreed to, and provide tremendous assistance and flexibility in helping us stay on track to produce the Directory in the designated timeframe.
